Prove library holdings - Procure literature

Discovery-System Primo
Find books, essays and more

The discovery system Primo is a modern library catalog and provides access to local and external resources such as books, e-books, journals - but also journal articles, book chapters or digital objects from the university library's collection.

Please note: You can only access licensed full texts from off campus by dialing into the campus network via Virtual Private Network (VPN). You can find out more about VPN on our page External access to electronic resources.

If you are missing a specific medium in our collection, you are welcome to suggest a new acquisition.

Print Journals Directory

You have become aware of an article and would like to know whether the journal and the specific issue in which the article is located is in the holdings of the university library. - For the area of print journals, it is a good idea to clarify this via our Print Journals page.

For the systematic identification of journal articles on a specific topic, the relevant databases are particularly useful.

Electronic Journals Library

Our Electronic Journals Library (EZB) allows you to search a large number of international electronic full-text journals covering all subject areas and to access the full texts of e-journals that are activated in the campus network and of e-journals that are generally freely accessible on the web. In the case of electronic full-text journals that are not accessible, you often at least have the option of viewing abstracts and tables of contents.

For specific searches of certain electronic journals, please use the simple search offered in the  Electronic Journals Library (search slot "quick search") or the advanced search.

Please note: From outside the campus area, you can only access full-text e-journals that require a license and are activated campus-wide by dialing into the campus network via Virtual Private Network (VPN). You can find out more about VPN on our page External access to electronic resources.

For systematic retrieval of journal articles on a specific topic, please use the relevant databases.

Detailed information on for economics relevant electronic journals can be found further down this page.

Database Information System (DBIS)

Search databases in our Database Information System (DBIS). Via DBIS you can get very good information about the content of the individual resources. As far as databases are unlocked for you to use or are generally freely available on the web, you can access them directly via DBIS.

Please note: From outside the campus area, you can only use databases that require a license and are available campus-wide at   by dialing into the campus network via Virtual Private Network (VPN). You can learn more about VPN on our External Access to Electronic Resources page.

A selection of the databases relevant to economics  is available further down this page.

You can use the interlibrary loan service to order almost all the specialist books and journal articles you need from other libraries if they are not available locally and cannot be purchased for our university library's collection.

Procedure and responsibility:
Ludwigshafen University Library does not offer its own interlibrary loan service. Users of our library can use the partner library UB Mannheim for this purpose (detailed information on interlibrary loans at UB Mannheim). Orders are usually placed electronically on your own. The team at Mannheim University Library provides support in case of questions or difficulties and is responsible for the further service process.

Document delivery service subito:
The document delivery service subito can be used for particularly urgent orders. The service is used independently and outside the library service at the user's own expense. As a rule, articles are delivered directly to the personal address within 72 hours (plus postal delivery time if sent by post).

Bibliographic, full text and factual databases

In the following, we have systematically compiled databases that are available campus-wide under license and selected databases that are freely accessible on the web.

In addition to the possibility of accessing the listed databases directly from this page, you will also find links to detailed database information in our database information system (DBIS) as well as to e-learning offers, if available.

Please note: From outside the campus area, you can only access our databases requiring a license by dialing into the campus network via Virtual Private Network (VPN).
