  • Eurostat Yearbook (Eurostat's Statistical Yearbook of Regions 20 provides a wealth of information on life in the European regions of the 27 Member States of the European Union as well as the candidate countries and EFTA countries).

  • Statista - statistics from over 10,000 sources. Note: Basic statistics freely accessible. The exact graph values are displayed on the campus of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, via a VPN connection or after free registration.

Selected dictionaries, encyclopedias, reference works

  • Abbreviations (The abkuerzungen.de database shows the corresponding resolutions with short explanations for abbreviations entered).
  • bab. la (bab.la offers an interactive dictionary in 24 languages, language tests such as TOEFL and a language forum. Vocabulary as well as grammar and conversation exercises can be practiced).
  • Lexica / Bundeszentrale für Politische Bildung (Topics include national and international politics, history, culture and economics. A number of online journals are also offered).
  • DeepL Translator (a free machine translation system based on neural networks)
  • Leo (online dictionary for English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Polish and Portuguese with learning aids)
  • Linguee (Linguee is an online dictionary for the languages English, German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. It is especially useful when you need to formulate professional texts in a foreign language and are looking for special vocabulary and phrases from the professional environment. )
  • LOGOS (LOGOS is a polyglot dictionary with entries from 200 languages. There are links to other dictionaries, a translation course, a database of conjugated verbs, etc.)
  • MDBG (Chinese-English dictionary. Abbreviation. Input English or Chinese. Handwritten input of characters is possible. In addition, there are some useful tools, as well as a downloadable offline version, but there is a charge).
